TRC Inc. has one of the few Performance Driving Schools in the world known for training engineers on how to properly drive and evaluate test vehicles. TRC Inc. offers specialized training to help your staff develop the skills needed to safely enhance vehicle development. The team of professional drivers and experienced instructors provide basic driving skills, evasive and defensive driving, vehicle dynamics, high-performance driving techniques, vehicle evaluation skills, consistency, and control during limit maneuvers, and more. Through discussion and hands-on experience, safe and consistent driving skills are developed. TRC Inc.’s instructors have prepared specific class curriculums with in-depth information relating to the driver/vehicle/road relationship.

Winding Road Course

Vehicle testing on the 1.5-mile (2.4 km) winding road course with wet and dry pavement capabilities provides input for vehicle handling. This course also contains two depth-controlled hydroplane test areas as well as a 203-foot (61.8m) radius wet vehicle dynamics handling area. Driver training and “ride and drives,” as well as driver distraction and collision avoidance studies, can be performed on this course.

TRC’s proving ground offers a 1.75-mile (2.8 km) asphalt course consisting of a variety of slow, medium, and high-speed corners, slight elevation changes, and turns of varying camber. This facility is used for vehicle dynamics studies, performance evaluation, and driver training.
