TRC has developed specific class curriculums that delve into the complex relationship between the driver, the vehicle, and the road environment. Related Facilities
Vehicle testing on the 1.5-mile (2.4 km) winding road course with wet and dry pavement capabilities provides input for vehicle handling. This course also contains two depth-controlled hydroplane test areas as well as a 203-foot (61.8m) radius wet vehicle dynamics handling area. Driver training and “ride and drives,” as well as driver distraction and collision avoidance studies, can be performed on this course.

The Vehicle Dynamics Area, which sits on a 50-acre (20-hectare) asphalt pad with an acceleration loop at each end, is a multipurpose facility for vehicle dynamic testing, durability testing, brake testing, performance testing, product demonstrations, and driver training. It also includes the Jennite Pad, where traction trailers are calibrated.
