Roger Schroer Wins Dean’s Meritorious Service to Students Award

The Ohio State University’s College of Engineering celebrated its 15th Annual Faculty Awards on May 15, 2012, at The Blackwell Inn. These awards celebrate research accomplishments, the pursuit of knowledge, outstanding teaching abilities, strategic partnerships, and much more.

Transportation Research Center Inc.’s (TRC Inc.) Roger Schroer was one of the recipients this year for his work with The Ohio State University’s Center for Automotive Research, Buckeye Bullet team. Roger received the “Dean’s Meritorious Service to Students Award”, which recognizes an individual or group from outside the Ohio State community for exemplary service to students of the College of Engineering or Knowlton School of Architecture. The award recognizes the support of engineering or architecture students through classroom presentations, internship and co-op opportunities, scholarship, and student organization or activity support. College departments and recognized student organizations can submit nominations.

Roger has driven three Ohio State electric land-speed vehicles to world records that continue to stand today. When asked what the most exciting part about setting these records, Roger’s response was that, “the true thrill comes from witnessing the teamwork involved in building the car.”
