Oversee construction projects and provide engineering oversight for facilities, such as Wind Tunnel, Winter Test Facilities and autonomous vehicle testing facilities. Establish and execute strategic vision for vehicle proving grounds to meet defined expectations and enhance engineering capabilities. Manage Facilities Department to ensure timely execution of operational support, facility work orders, preventative maintenance, building and infrastructure renovation, and new construction. Direct supporting functions such as building controls, HVAC, facilities infrastructure, proving ground security, project leadership, and facility process controls. Recruit and develop top-level talent, including facilities management and engineers. Set departmental and individual staff goals aligned with current and future business needs. Provide mentoring, coaching, and training to maximize staff performance and growth. Recommend cost optimization strategies to add value and improve facility efficiencies. Collaborate with other organizational leaders for the continuous improvement of business and operations for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing processes in accordance with applicable ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related Engineering degree and five years of technical engineering experience which must include the following: Construction and management of specialized testing facilities, such as Winter Test Facilities or Wind Tunnel Operations; Research and development of climate controlled testing environments; Use of CAD 2D and 3D and Building Management Software/Hardware for the design and maintenance of facility controls and engineering systems; Continuous improvement of facilities, instrumentation, processes, and procedures through inspection and testing; Management of scheduling, cost control, and vendors for facility operations.
