TRC Inc. continues to develop plans in conjunction with The Ohio State University to create new road-test facilities focused on the implementation of active safety technologies in passenger and commercial vehicles. As companies in the industry increase the capability of these various vehicle communication systems and environment sensing technology, TRC Inc. aims to provide a controlled environment for research, development, and evaluation of these active safety systems.

In addition to this new facility, TRC Inc. is attending industry events concentrating on active safety systems. Representatives from TRC Inc. and The Ohio State University most recently exhibited at AUVSI and TRB’s Automated Vehicles Symposium in July. With nearly 900 participants, the 3-day symposium gathered companies and organizations from around the world to discuss topics including human factors in the design of road vehicle automation, cybersecurity, impact on traffic management systems, and regulation. Future industry events focused on active safety that TRC Inc. plans to attend include TU-Automotive’s Active Safety: ADAS to Autonomous in October and SAE’s 2015 Active Safety Systems Symposium in November.
